"I believe it," Azwel says. "I can see it in her eyes." Oh, yes, he did indeed see that challenge, that rage. "Such a soul! I can tell from here she wishes to tear me apart!" This, somehow, delights him. He takes another step forward, the leash in his gauntleted hand.
The scant light glints off the red crystal set in the back of the gauntlet. It's steeped in powerful, ancient magick.
"You have no reason not to wish such a thing," he says to her. "Someone betrayed you by selling you to this weasel," the owner bristles but says nothing. "And then he sells you to a stranger for a price that will no doubt make him wealthy... for as long as he can hold onto it." His voice is so weirdly pleasant, it would likely lull anyone else thoroughly.
He decides to test how well that's worked by reaching forward to clip the leash to her collar.
