It's not that people were getting fed up with Judar visiting and hanging out with them all the time that he was at this particular establishment. They didn't tell him to find something else to keep him busy. The people he grew up with definitely didn't say that if he was so lonely, he should just get a pet or something. Only to immediately retract that statement because it'd imply having more responsibility than Judar's ever shown.
What really happened is that everyone else was busying themselves with boring things, like academics, new careers, politics or something, and he didn't know what to do these days. He didn't have anything particular in mind, but walking around put him outside this pet shop. So, sure, why not? If anything, he'll kill some time browsing around.
Which would definitely take a while, as he started on the side with the rabbits and such, which he was ready to pass on immediately. He's heard about them being pretty frail. Both the birds and dogs were too loud for his liking, wanting attention or to just... Give him a headache really. One that he was shaking off, letting the long braid sway around with the motion, while going into the cat area. He was already thinking it would be easier to get an adult cat anyway, so Judar was already going slower around displays like Azwel's compared to one of the kittens.
